DeepSeek lets its AI rewire itself: any feature you ask for in chat
DeepSeek Harness gets Creator Mode: describe the tool you want and the AI builds the plugin itself. The company released a video and all seven demo prompts.

DeepSeek today unveiled Creator Mode, a new mode in DeepSeek Harness, its app for AI agents. The idea is simple and cheeky: if the app is missing a feature, you don't wait for an update, you describe it in the chat and the AI builds a plugin that drops straight into the sidebar or opens right from the conversation.
In a 1:40 video the company builds seven of these plugins. There's a 3D gallery with the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, an interactive 3D game that walks you through how a Transformer actually computes, and a switch that reskins the whole app in five styles, pixel art included. Then it gets more serious: a poster studio with a custom background and text, a video editor with a big preview, a timeline and editing through chat commands, and a paper reader that keeps the PDF layout intact and lets you highlight a passage and ask the model about it. The last plugin tracks your own tokens, the rough cost of your conversations and CPU load.
The useful part is that DeepSeek published all seven prompts in full, in English and Chinese. You can paste them into Harness, pick Creator Mode and recreate any of the demos or bend them to your own needs. The company admits some plugins took several rounds of back and forth, so one prompt may not give you exactly what's in the video.
It's the next step after the AI boss DeepSeek shipped over the weekend: back then an agent handed work out to other agents, now it writes new features for itself. The mode itself is labeled as a preview.
China is building an app you shape just by talking to it, and handing out the recipes for free.
