Musk toured Colossus 2 at midnight: AI is moving into an old SPAM warehouse
Two more Colossus 2 buildings, Gun Range and Spam, will get over 400,000 Nvidia chips before year end, taking the site to around 1.2 million Blackwells.

Elon Musk walked his Colossus 2 site in Memphis around midnight, did it again in the morning and then posted fresh numbers. The two finished buildings, Macroharder and Minihard, each hold 220,000 Nvidia GB300 accelerators with 800 gig network cards, and both are set up for training models.
Next come two new buildings with telling names. Gun Range gets the same number of chips, also for training, and is tracking to come online by the end of November. The second one is called Spam, because the building used to store products from Hormel, the company behind SPAM canned meat. It will get about 200,000 GB300s configured for inference, meaning answering users rather than training, so the networking is simpler and it needs less than half the fiber of the training halls. Spam is due in December.
If everything lands, Colossus 2 will have around 1.2 million Blackwell-generation chips by the end of the year, again per Musk. xAI started the site, and since SpaceX absorbed xAI it is SpaceX running the build, which is why Musk thanked "the SpaceX team and contractors". On the October 20 earnings call he said he spends about four days a week in Memphis, night and day, and the project is still facing a lawsuit over the gas turbines that power it.
Two hundred thousand chips just for answering users, all inside an old canned meat warehouse. SPAM's marketing team could never have dreamed of this.
