A Chinese spy got right next to Nvidia's CEO

US intelligence watched an executive at an Nvidia cloud customer for a year and concluded she works for Beijing. Nvidia says these were ordinary customer meetings.

US intelligence spent about a year watching Alice Huang (Huang Le), a top executive at Singapore cloud operator Megaspeed. According to reporters citing anonymous sources, officials concluded she was working as a Chinese intelligence asset and passing commercial information to Beijing. She is no relation to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, but she grew very close to him and was photographed next to him at several business dinners in Asia.

That is what worried officials. They feared the closeness could let her learn Nvidia's plans and the details of Jensen Huang's push to get the Trump administration to allow more advanced chips to be sold to China. Megaspeed itself had already drawn suspicion: in 2025 the US Commerce Department looked into whether the company was reselling restricted AI chips to Chinese firms to dodge export controls. Reports at the time said Megaspeed was set to buy $2 billion of Nvidia hardware over a year.

Nvidia denies all of it. A spokesperson said the CEO's dealings with the Megaspeed executive are no different from those with any other regional customer: "Meetings with customers are part of a C.E.O.'s job; Jensen talks with thousands of customer executives every year." The company says such customers get ordinary business information, not Nvidia trade secrets and nothing relevant to national security. It calls the chip diversion allegations against Megaspeed investigated and debunked last year, and says the US government would let it know if it saw a threat.

There is no public evidence yet, only anonymous sources. Still, the picture says plenty: the most valuable man in AI now draws attention from intelligence agencies, not just investors.
