2GIS AI assistant now tells you where your bus is
The chatbot in the 2GIS maps app can now plan public transport trips and tell you when to leave home.

The AI assistant in 2GIS, a Russian maps and city directory app, now understands public transport. You can ask it in chat where your bus is right now, how far a given trolleybus goes, and how to build a route with transfers when there is no direct option.
It will suggest the most convenient place to change and the fastest way to get to work. It also works backwards: ask when to leave home to make your lecture or catch a train. The company's press office announced the update.
The assistant itself launched last December. Back then it only answered questions about specific places, like whether a cafe has a kids menu, where the cloakroom is or what reviews say. Transport is its first step beyond venue pages.
The chat lives in the Questions tab in the iOS and Android apps and in the web version. 2GIS could already show buses on the map, but now you don't have to tap through stops, you just ask.
A map that can answer "will I make it?" beats a map that just looks nice.
